prestressed
A prestressed pipe has been reinforced with wire strands (which are under tension) to give the pipe an active resistance to loads or pressures on it.
main line
Branch or lateral pipes that collect wastewater from building pipes and service lines.
input horsepower
The total power used in operating a pump and motor.
vehicle, liquid
See liquid vehicle.
distributor
The rotating mechanism that distributes the wastewater evenly over the surface of a trickling filter or other process unit. Also see fixed-spray nozzle.
