Drawing or removing water from a tank or reservoir or the water drawn or removed from a tank or reservoir.
lubriflushing (LOOB-rah-flush-ing)
A method of lubricating bearings with grease. Remove the relief plug and apply the proper lubricant to the bearing at the lubrication fitting. Run the pump to expel excess lubricant.
pipe run
(1) The length of wastewater collection pipe reaching from 1 manhole to the next. Also see barrel. (2) Any length of pipe, generally assumed to be in a straight line.grit
The heavy material present in wastewater such as sand, coffee grounds, eggshells, gravel, and cinders. Also called detritus.
hazard communication
Employee right-to-know legislation requires employers to inform employees (including pretreatment inspectors) of the possible health effects resulting from contact with hazardous substances. At locations where this legislation is in force, employers must provide employees with information regarding any hazardous substances that they might be exposed to under normal work conditions or reasonably foreseeable emergency conditions resulting from workplace conditions. OSHA’s Hazard Communication Standard (HCS; Title 29 CFR Part 1910.1200) is the federal regulation and state statutes are called worker right-to-know laws. Also see Community Right-To-Know.
