A drawing or photo showing the top view of sewers, manholes, streets, or structures.

television inspection

An inspection of the inside of a collection system pipe made by pulling a closed-circuit television camera through the pipe.

turbidity units (TU)

A measure of the cloudiness of water. If measured by a nephelometric (deflected light) instrumental procedure, turbidity units are expressed in nephelometric turbidity units (NTU) or simply TU.

sewer jack

A device placed in manholes that supports a yoke or pulley that keeps wires or cables from rubbing against the inlet or outlet of a wastewater collection pipe.

aerobic decomposition (air-o-bick)

The decay or breaking down of organic material in the presence of free or dissolved oxygen (DO).
