hazard communication

Employee Right-To-Know legislation requires employers to inform employees (pretreatment inspectors) of the possible health effects resulting from contact with hazardous substances. At locations where this legislation is in force, employers must provide employees with information regarding any hazardous substances that they might be exposed to under normal work conditions or reasonably foreseeable emergency conditions resulting from workplace conditions. OSHA's Hazard Communication Standard (HCS) (Title 29 CFR Part 1910.1200) is the federal regulation and state statutes are called Worker Right-To-Know laws. Also see Community Right-To-Know.
