conductor

(1) A pipe that carries a liquid load from a point to another point. In a wastewater collection system, a conductor is often a large pipe with no service connections. Also called a conduit. Also see interceptor sewer or interconnector. (2) In plumbing, a pipe installed to drain water from the roof gutters or roof catchment to the storm drain or other means of disposal. Also called a downspout, roof leader, or roof drain. (3) In electricity, a substance, body, device, or wire that readily conducts or carries electric current. Also called a conduit.
