bedding grade

(1) In a gravity-flow wastewater collection system, pipe bedding is constructed and compacted to the design grade of the pipe. This is usually expressed as a percentage. A 0.5 percent grade would be a drop of 0.5 feet per 100 hundred feet of pipe. (2) Bedding grade for a gravity-flow wastewater collection pipe can also be specified as elevation above mean sea level at specific points.
