Objective

This series of courses trains operators to safely and effectively operate and maintain wastewater treatment plants.

Scope

This course trains operators in the practical aspects of operating and maintaining disinfection processes and in the performance of basic laboratory procedures. This course uses the following chapters from Operation of Wastewater Treatment Plants, Volume 1: Chapter 7, “Disinfection” and Chapter 9, “Laboratory Procedures” as well as Appendix A, “Introduction to Basic Math for Operators”. The information in this course will provide you with an understanding of basic concepts, an ability to analyze and solve problems when they occur on the job, and proficiency with mathematical calculations and formulas operators use on the job every day. The procedures and concepts discussed in this course can be adapted to fit the needs of your plant.
