masking agent

A substance used to cover up or disguise unpleasant odors. Liquid masking agents are dripped into the wastewater, sprayed into the air, or evaporated (using heat) with the unpleasant fumes or odors and then discharged into the air by blowers to make an undesirable odor less noticeable.

floc

Particles that clump together to form a cluster because of the actions of bacteria (biological floc) or coagulants (chemical floc).

toxic pollutant

Those pollutants or combinations of pollutants, including disease-causing agents, that cause death, disease, behavioral abnormalities, cancer, genetic mutations, physiological malfunctions (including malfunctions in reproduction), or physical deformations.
