electron

A very small, practically weightless, negatively charged particle of an atom that determines its chemical properties. According to the electron theory, all electrical and electronic effects are caused either by the movement of electrons from place to place or because there is an excess or lack of electrons at a particular place. 

lubriflushing (LOOB-rah-flush-ing)

A method of lubricating bearings with grease. Remove the relief plug and apply the proper lubricant to the bearing at the lubrication fitting. Run the pump to expel excess lubricant.

anionic polymer (AN-eye-ON-ick)

A polymer having negatively charged groups of ions; often used as a filter aid and for dewatering sludges.

subsystem

An extensive underground wastewater collection system connected to the main collection system, but not considered part of the main system. An example might be the underground collection system of a mobile home park.

toxaphene (TOX-uh-feen)

A chemical that causes adverse health effects in domestic water supplies and also is toxic to freshwater and marine aquatic life.
