Following completion of Chapter 5, students should be able to:

3. Start up and shut down sedimentation basins.
4. Operate and maintain a sedimentation process and basins.
5. Collect samples and analyze results for a sedimentation process.
6. Keep records of a sedimentation process and basins.
7. Safely perform their duties around a sedimentation basin.

The main purpose of this chapter is to teach students how to safely start up, operate, shut down, and maintain sedimentation basins.
